Police looking to stop rapes and sexual assaults
POLICE in Notts are running an awareness campaign to cut the number of rapes and sexual assaults over Christmas. The campaign will feature on posters, drink mats, advice cards and radio ads. Detective Inspector Mark Flavell, head of the Crime Policy Unit at Notts Police, said: “Alcohol and drugs can make you feel more confident but can also seriously distort your judgment. “Simple precautions will keep you safe so make sure you have put plans in place with your friends at the beginning of the evening to make sure you can all get home safely.“He added: “Always make sure that someone knows where you are and when you’re expected back. Don’t walk home alone or go back with someone you have just met – stay with friends or use a licensed taxi.”
